Essiac Lineage

Experimenting on lab mice in 1926, Rene Caisse was the first to isolate the properties of Sheep sorrel (Rumex acetosella) as exhibiting positive action against cancer cells and the only one of the Medicine Man’s eight herbs that could be injected without risk of anaphylactic shock. She developed her combination Essiac therapy (her family name CAISSE spelled backwards) as a result of this research, including the Sheep sorrel injection and various decoctions based on the remaining seven herbs that became the primary course of treatment at her Bracebridge Cancer Clinic, 1935 – 1941.
